I know. I know. I've been slacking when it comes keeping this thing updated. Life comes at you fast. After all the years I spent dreaming of all the the things I wanted to to do, I feel like I'm trying to do everything at once. Between working and exploring and building a videography business, trying to make a documentary is damn near impossible. To be honest, I didn't know how to tackle an endeavor that colossal. But that's about to change. I have been infused with a new sense of purpose. With the help of an old film school buddy, I reframed how I want to tell the story. I want to follow a handful of people from different backgrounds, with different circumstances, and tell their story from the moment they get out through the first critical weeks. The problem: I would need to dedicate lots of time and money to accomplish that. 

The solution: I may have found that money.

I was fortunate enough to go to Netroots Nation in Philly- this huge convention that promotes progressive ideas like prison reform. My job at AFSC paid for me to go there. They PAID me to go there. WTF. For real, I remember when I was a kid I would dream of having a job that I could travel for. Now I have one, and 7 months ago I was in prison! I'm still on parole! Sometime I feel like this is all a dream. I trip out when I think about it. I cant believe how fortunate I am. There was a time, in my dark years, that if all of these amazing things happened to me, I would have self sabotaged. So I'm trying this new thing. Its called just rolling with flow. It's called just doing the next right thing. It's called paying it forward. Anyway, at this convention, I met some amazing people and learned how I could get the funding I need to make this documentary. Thats why I'm stepping my game up, making a new page, doing the blog. And if you've been here from the beginning, if you donated to the go-fund-me, or just showed your support by taking the time out of your day to step in the life of someone else, I want to say thank you. I'm so grateful for your support. This is how we manifest something meaningful.

On the practical side of it, we move forward step by step.
